Uche Fuels Comfortable Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their first-ever European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.

A Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

Dominance Asserted from the Start

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
